The Benefits of Socialized Medicine

[Vinography: A Wine Blog] I fit pretty well into the culture there despite my extreme aversion to Black and Tans and the occasional pair of white socks which marked me as a clear Yank. I have fond memories of lots of things, including my only run-in with the British medical system, which made treatment for a set of infected, recently removed wisdom teeth both literally and figuratively painless.

Finding and Using Faculty Development Resources

[Rose Colored Glasses] The speakers presented the Professional Development Portal (http://pdp.unctlt.org/) developed by the University of North Carolina. The site contains a training compendium (containing handouts for leading faculty development workshops), how-to-materials, tutorials, articles, and links to other portals.

2000 HdV Chardonnay”¦blissful

[Vines & Wines] When imparting on the blog journey, my hope was to “provide a forum for winemakers and viticulturists to discuss current industry trends and new scientific literature relevant to growing and making wine.” Additionally I planned to post notes of the biweekly tastings I participated in with my collegues. From the beginning the blog was intended to be for my personal learning and entirely separate from the winery employing me.

[Professor Bainbridge on Wine] Light-bodied, thin, and a bit sharp. There isn't enough body to support the alcohol, so it finishes hot.

[Wino sapien] Restrained, lanolin and lemon nose. Crisp and citric, lovely texture (helped by being served close to room temperature), pleasing almost crunchy finish.

Prestizu Vermentino di Sardegna Soletta 2004 - The perfect wine with fish

[Italian's Insight to Travel Italy] When I think of Sardegna, La Maddalena, Cannonau, and Vermentino come to mind. La Maddalena has beautiful beaches, Cannonau is a hearty red wine from Sassari, and Vermentino is a flavorful white wine with a great deal of personality.
