Gourmets of Wine > 2006 Maddalena Sauvignon Blanc
[Benito's Wine Reviews] Nice aroma of green apples, though the end result is smoother and rounder than many of the highly citric Sauvignon Blancs that are hitting the market. It's not flabby--there is a good acidic structure.

[Untitled] Savvie: The following evenings and sometimes early afternoons, we delved into sampling a number of excellent savvies (as New Zealanders affectionately call them). Kiwis are fiercely proud of their country, their culture and their produce and wines. They have every right to be.
[Anything Wine] Atari and Wine: I would say that if you want a Sauvignon Blanc that exemplifies Sauvignon Blancs this isnt it. But if you want a great white wine from California than I would definitely recommend this wine.
[Weddings] Wines to toast your blessings: 2006 Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand ($16-$19) - Whats not to love about New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc? This one is on the upper edge of intensity with the grapefruit thing, but very nice on the palate.
[About Wine] The Marriage of Food and Wine - Natalie MacLean: Wild game often goes better with racy red wines that have a gamy quality to them, the classic being Burgundian pinot noir. The flavors of pinot noir -- plum, cherry, mushrooms, earth and even barnyard (thats a positive adjective) - accentuate the same gamy flavors in the food.

From that group Ive found six that seem to best show the ripe and brambly fruit flavors of old vines.
[Marga's Foodblog] Wine Tasting in Napa Valley: In reality all I can say is what I liked and what I didn't like, which may be very different from what you like. I tend to like full-bodied wines, neither light or heavy in tanins and with a well defined oakiness (which I didn't find at all in this trip).
[Side Effects (of living and being me)] A sophisticated delight!: Chenin Blanc- This grape produces both dry and sweet wines, and ages well. Muscadelle - Muscadelle is almost always used in blends with Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
