Gourmets of Wine > 2006 Milbrandt Vineyards Traditions Cabernet Sauvignon : PALATE PRESS
[PALATE PRESS] It's a fruit-forward wine that is well structured with an easy to enjoy finish. This is a real bang-for-the-buck wine! WHO Milbrandt Vineyards WHAT Cabernet Sauvignon (75.4%), Merlot (12.3%), Petit Verdot (12.3%) ...
[Washington State Beer and Wine] Cabernet Classic Review: Wine benefit for CocA | Washington State ...: The selection for the first year is North Ridge Vineyard, part of the Wahluke Slope AVA in eastern Washington. This is a Cabernet blend that also includes Merlot, Petit verdot, Malbec, and Petit Syrah. The fruit is restrained on the nose and the palette, but there is no doubt that black current is present. The tannins are smooth, buoyed by good acid. All of this resulted in a balanced and enjoyable wine. This is a wine I want to pair with food, not to smooth out something out of whack, but to enhance the food. The price tag of $55, however, means that it will be a special occasion when I have fun pairing this wine.

[The Tasting Circle] March 2009: Cabernet Sauvignon - WA vs. CA « The Tasting Circle: California Cabs and see if there was a clear winner. Well, you could say this was a landslide, with California taking first, second and third place. The only point worth mentioning is that there should have been a twelfth wine: Reininger 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon from Walla Walla ($41). Reininger produces delicious, award-winning Washington wines, but sadly this wine was corked and was disqualified from the tasting, putting the Washington lineup at a disadvantage. Check out what the tasters had to say about the wines. (I think they were surprised what they had to say as well!) ”¦

[Eating Our Words] Houston - Eating Our Words - Wine Trends for 2009: Quality and Value: Veneto grows some really great wines. This wine is obscure and a littleunusual: a french blending grape that flourishes in Chile as a singlevarietal but here we see it cultivated with great success in the reddirt vineyards of the Veneto...weird and cool and very good.
