[West End Wines] 2009 Artezin Zinfandel | West End Wines St Louis Wines - Wine ...: The 2009 Artezin Mendocino County Zinfandel represents a blend of the best grapes from vineyards in the ridgelines and bench lands of the Ukiah Valley in Mendocino County. Mendocino’s Mediterranean climate is notable for warmer days, which provide optimal ripening conditions, giving this wine its signature peppery notes and fruit-forward flavors, while cool evenings help Zinfandel retain balanced acidity and good structure.

[Wine Lines] 2007 Artezin Petite Sirah, Mendocino County | Wine Lines: Many wineries include a dollop of Petite Sirah in their Zinfandel bottlings. Artezin includes a bit of Zin and a splash of Charbono in its varietal Petite Sirah, a wine that offers a basketful of dark berries in the mouth.

[Wine and Good Food] 2007 Artezin Petite Sirah | Wine and Good Food: The Artezin pours dark plum and the nose is very rich.  There are aromas of plum, dark cherry, and blackberry.   After first taste, I decide to decant the wine for an hour to let it develop a bit.  It really smoothes out and is much more enjoyable.   The Petite Sirah tastes of blackberry, dark currants, and a hint of tobacco.  The dusty tannins are followed by lingering notes of cocoa.  I do like the rich, earthy flavor of this wine but it would definitely benefit from a few more years in the bottle.   This wine should age nicely with a little more time.
