2005 Michael-David Vineyards Zinfandel 7 Deadly Zins

CellarTracker Tasting Notes (all notes)http://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=312614&iNote=836520 [CellarTracker Tasting Notes (all notes)] Primarily dark fruits (blackberry and plum) on the nose, with toasty vanilla aromas. Pallate is very fruit-forward with sweet oak, licorice and very soft tannins (possibly too soft to be considered in balance).

2002 Kangarilla Road Zinfandel Fleurieu

CellarTracker Tasting Notes (all notes)http://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=589295&iNote=836695 [CellarTracker Tasting Notes (all notes)] This one, sourced from regional non-estate vineyards, should retail some $10 - $12 lower than the estate version at $18 or thereabouts. Absolute text book zin if you follow oft used descriptors of cheaper Californian zins: heaps of sweet, heady fruit, and masses of fruit cake like flavour.

Wicked Weekend Zinfandel

Vintages Wine & Spirits[Vintages Wine & Spirits] First produced in 1978, with 100% Alexander Valley grapes, Sin Zin has developed a cult like following for its abundant raspberry fruit and freshly crushed black pepper character. In 2001 we launched Redemption Zinfandel, a 100% Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel that displays rich blackberry, blueberry and spice rack qualities that is a terrific counterpoint to Sin Zin.

Zinfandel Taste Off

Drink What YOU Likehttp://drinkwhatyoulike.wordpress.com/2008/10/19/zinfandel-taste-off/ [Drink What YOU Like] Our ”˜pre-winter, cold weather, perfect for chili night’ included the Napa Wine Company Zinfandel and the Bogle Old Vine Zinfandel.  Ideally I would have picked two Zins in the same vintage, but I wanted to try both of these wines since they are at opposite ends of the viticulture spectrum - Napa Wine Company uses certified organic grapes and Bogle is a big box producer.

CellarTracker Tasting Notes (all notes)http://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=246600&iNote=830454 [CellarTracker Tasting Notes (all notes)] Nose of sweet berry jam, spice, tar, oak, pepper, alcohol, a little meatiness, and some more oak. In the mouth big fruity spicy berry on the attack, a hollow midpalate, and a fairly short finish spiked with alcohol and an extended burning aftertaste of oak.

Jason's Wine Bloghttp://jasonswineblog.com/2008/10/02/2007-king-shag-marlborough-sauvignon-blanc/ [Jason's Wine Blog] This is probably the best sauvignon blanc I’ve had that is under $10. On the nose it’s bursting with citrus and fruity notes and it finishes with crisp acidity, that lingers just a bit as it reveals a slightly grassy finish.
