Mondovino-A review « Mark's Wine/Family/Business Blog

[Mark's Wine/Family/Business Blog] I understand that this is going to be a major concern with wineries, but I have to admit that almost every wine drinker I know from the serious to the casual, seem to have similar tastes to Parker. If he were constantly rating wines highly that the wine consuming public didn’t like, then he would lose his following rather quickly and people would pay more attention to other publications which the filmaker seems to leave out for the most part, with a small reference of Wine Spectator and their 2M+ yearly readers.

The Wine Curmudgeon: Wine review: Matua Valley Pinot Noir 2008

[The Wine Curmudgeon] What a run of luck - two pinot noirs in a week that are less than $15 and worth drinking. In fact, the Matua (about $14) is a bit more impressive than the Cycles Gladiator, and ranks among the best-made...

In search of a great Pinot Noir - Your Life - SunHerald.com

[SunHerald.com: Your Life] The pinot noir grape is responsible not only for a wide variety of wine styles, but also for a vast range of flavors. The pinot noirs of Burgundy, France, are tremendously different than those from the Willamette Valley in Oregon which differ from those produced in the Russian River Valley and Sonoma County in California.

Mercer Chardonnay | CheapWineRatings.com

[CheapWineRatings.com] There is pretty good intensity to the aromas, which include melon, celery, honey and hazelnut.  The palate is lime and melon with nice, crisp acidity.  An oaky aftertaste, along with crisp apple, comes into play on the finish. It’s a very dry Chardonnay, and high-alcohol compared to the others in our blind tasting, at 14.1% ABV.
