[CellarBlog] The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon was the wine I was the most excited to try. 2007 was a blockbuster year for Virginia wine and Breaux is well-known for it's Cabernet Sauvignon, so my expectations were high.

[The Other 46] Breaux Palate | The Other 46: Breaux Vineyards has a great Cabernet Sauvignon program and the Double Reserve is another standout wine in a long lineup of excellent Cabernets.  Smoky, ripe, red fruit and plum aromas.  Chocolate, inky, earthy flavors develop into a powerful, full-bodied wine.  Excellent aging potential if you have the patience (obviously I didn’t).

Wine Market: Red Hills is a great location for vineyards and it is still a secret so great value wines can be found there, and this bottle is a perfect example. Cabernet does very well in Red Hills because the volcanic soil and the gravel content make the vines stress to produce great fruit.
