[Diana Takes a Bite] Wine tastings are awesome, too. I was just telling a friend of mine that we should invest in a vineyard and create our own wines.

[Mosaic Wine Group] Kermit Lynch in Austin Monday Nov. 9 « Mosaic Wine Group: The setting was straight out of Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, as Lynch puts it, and the souls were southerners who had fled their native land and sought out the same California Cottonfields that Merle Haggard’s father dreamed of as he tilled his rundown, mortgaged Oklahoma farm. It was there that Lynch discovered his first love of music (and grape juice, since no wine was to be had): Jimmy Rogers, Hank Williams, and the country recordings of Jerry Lee Lewis were the first cuts he would hear, the same music his father’s congregants listened to when not singing at church.

[Drinkingcheap - cheap drinking in the town] Drinkingcheap - cheap drinking in the town An Informational Guide ...: The aroma, also called the 'nose' or 'bouquet', should remind you of things that you might smell in nature. The smell usually correlates with the taste, and wines might smell fruity, or earthy, or woody, or spicy, or any number of combination of things.

[Columbus Food and Wine] Columbus Food and Wine » Recipe for a Happy New Year: We settled on a romantic dinner at home—cooked by yours truly—with wines chosen to compliment the food and buoy the celebration. I figured that for less than half of what we’d spend going out, we could create a memorable meal, and drink more wine than possible if we were driving(and send the money we saved to MasterCard).

[Wine Tasting, Vineyards, in France] Wine Tasting, Vineyards, in France: Vitkin (Israel): The hardest type of wine to make, Doron says : 1st you have to pick the right grapes in the vineyard (in 2007 & 2008 they didn't make any), 2nd it's hard to make in the winery, hard to press, 8 hours of press, 3rd also this is the end of the season and they are already tired by the regular harvest and vinifications, and have to go through another again....Cost 90 Shekel for half bottle.

[Atlas Cruises and Tours Travel Blog] Celebrity Cruise Wine Tasting with Riedel Crystal: As you lift the first to your lips, you pause, deeply inhaling the perfume that emanates from deep inside. A sip yields more than wine…it communicated a complex story of grapes, soil, climate and passion.

[Clare Flynn's Adventures Abroad Blog] Hello all, it's been awhile. « Clare Flynn's Adventures Abroad Blog: I wasn’t entirely sure what our tour guide was saying, since he was talking extremely fast, with absolutely no pauses.  By that time, we were all hungry, hot, and tired, and not paying too much attention, but excited to do our first wine tasting.  Each of the storage rooms smelled differently (although, I admit, none smelled good to me.  I guess I need to learn more about wine), and there were even several rooms with barrels signed by famous people who had visited the winery (the king of Spain and his family, Picasso, Steven Spielberg…quite the variety).  Our tour ended with us passing a glass of wine in the middle of the fermenting rooms with a tiny ladder leaned up against it.  Our guide explained that it’s for rats to drink the wine! Some kind of tradition, but the pictures of hte rats drinking out of the class were pretty cute!  Finally, we got to sit down and begin the wine tasting.  We started with a glass of sherry (Jerez, the name of the city, means sherry), and we all agreed that it was way too strong, pretty much the same as the wine we had at the university for our orientation.  After that, we all sincerely hopped that all Spanish wine wouldn’t be that gross (our culture teacher, Antonio, has since explained to us that most foreigners don’t like Spanish wine the first time they try it).  The second, and final glass, was another white wine, but  it much much sweeter and went down much easier.  At the end though, we all came to the conclusion that the wine wasn’t very good (but what do we know?) and that all we really wanted was for the waiter to refill the bowls of potato chips on our tables (Did I mention we were hungry?).  We all reboarded the bus and returned to Cádiz, had lunch, and siesta-ed, preparing for the long night ahead.

[Do Bianchi] Kermit Lynch is coming to Austin and he's bringing some damn good ...: Lynch was born in Bakersfield and grew up of the son of a teetotalling itinerant preacher who traveled the upper reaches of the San Joaquin Valley in search of souls to save. The setting was straight out of Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, as Lynch puts it, and the souls were southerners who had fled their native land and sought out the same “California Cotton Fields”

[STEVE HEIMOFF| WINE BLOG] STEVE HEIMOFF| WINE BLOG » Blog Archive » Gallo's social media ...: POV as to how to best leverage and monetize social media in a company with a massive portfolio and finite resources (although less finite than other wine companies to be sure), I cannot understand one of the wine industry’s big marketeers incorrectly referring to himself as a Millenial. If David is 38 years old, he is most certainly NOT a Millenial.

[Virginia Wine Time] Virginia Wine Time » Blog Archive » Casanel Has Arrived: Over the years, he and his wife Casey also developed an enjoyment of wines, and faced with a decision to retire or find yet another venture to pursue they opted for the latter. Nelson found the abandoned property with its 19th century structures and with his contractor’s mindset firmly in place imagined a diamond in the rough.

[cluelessaboutwine - wine blog] cluelessaboutwine - wine blog: Jellyfish: When I finally finished the day and arrived home, I poured a small glass of cool white wine to temper being cooked in my office (I am based directly under a copper roof without aircon, the fans turning the space into an efficient convection oven. I should bring in a lamb joint as it would be slow roasted to perfection by the end of a working day).
