"Seeing Red" Shiraz vs. Cabernet: The Smackdown
[Next Level Articles] And even if everybody had the same preferences, the variation among Shiraz and Cabernets depending on budget, region, grower, vintner, and even year are such that a basic ranking of the two is not very meaningful. However, it is helpful to identify one or two of the main and most popular bottles of each and at least compare them in terms of taste, bouquet, common regions and terrior, and body.

Punching the cap of Zinfandel by hand literally | VinoTrac Blog
[VinoTrac Blog] I know winemakers like their tools but personally, I’m not a fan of the punch down tool. This is really only possible because my batch sizes are manageable and not dealing with macro bins galore so this technique isn’t exactly practical for everyone.

The Secret to Serving Perfect Chardonnay: 2010 Helix Chardonnay ...
[Reininger Winery : Walla Walla Valley] The most common mistake amongst Chardonnay drinkers is serving the wine at the wrong temperature. In general, many people tend to over-chill their white wines, leading to a refreshing wine with masked flavors and bouquets (a good tip if your wine isn’t of very good quality). On the flip side, white wines served too warm will taste alcoholic and flabby. A good general rule of thumb for wine chilling coms from Ursula Hermacinski, the former Christie’s wine auctioneer, who said “Twenty minutes before dinner, you take the white wine out of the fridge, and put the red wine in.”

Chef 101 Humpday: Strawberry-Cabernet Sorbet (My commentary is ...
[Eve's Wine 101] Place strawberries, sugar and lemon juice in a food processor work bowl fitted with steel blade, OR in blender container. (I opted for the latter as this chef 101er only knows how to clean a food processor, not USE one.) Cover and process until smooth. Stir in wine. (As I opted for the blender method, I added the wine in with the rest of the ingredients. My mixture bubbled, but it looked pretty like that.)
