Here's a wine-with-food advice tool for your BlackBerry

[BBHub] Which is why I'm interested in Sommelier, a wine and food advisor for BlackBerry. You select your food type, and Sommelier makes a wine recommendation.

Some related posts from Technorati and Google.

[amuse-bouche] This week’s column: More on the syrah front from an unlikely place: the Lake Chelan area in the north Cascades (the winery’s there, not the grapes). I’m not consistently a fan of Vin du Lac’s wine, but their 2003 syrah ($25) was impressive, evoking those big northern Rhone notes, a good mouth balance and a focused, earthy, salty finish.

http://thecaveman.blogspot.com [Thecaveman.blogspot.com] The Caveman's Wine Blog: He believes in lots of foliage on his vines and looks for the best balance between sugar and phenolic acid at harvest time, and it shows in his wine. His mix is Syrah with Cabernet and Petit Verdot, The high percentage of Petit Verdot (30%) in the 2001keeps the wine super tight, the French oak is used judiciously and the result is a wine that remains undeniably Californian with jammy fruit, zin-type spicing, a luscious tannic structure but held together with enough acidity to keep it fresh.

[Vinography.com] Vinography: a wine blog: Silver Oak New Release: Since that first bottle, I've had a lot more Silver Oak, and a lot more red wines that have less of a marketing budget, less of a cult following, and a lot more soul. In the small bit of experience and knowledge I've gained over the years, I've come to realize that while Silver Oak is a well made wine, the price does not reflect the true relative quality of the wine compared to others in the industry.
