[Me So Hungry - FOOD BLOG!] Then layered the bottom of the crock pot with sliced onions (I hear this is good so the meat isn’t directly touching the surface of the crock pot and it avoids it from sitting in the fat while it cooks). Dropped in the pot roast and surrounded it by potatoes and carrots and added a 1/2 cup of water.

[CrazyAuntPurl] CrazyAuntPurl: When it is 1000 degrees, make pot roast!: From the sublime to the ridiculous, when I want something decadent I make "Crazy Fudge," which is microwave fudge to which I add two cups of crushed graham crackers, a cup of peanut butter, two cups of chopped roast peanuts, and two cups of mini-marshmallows. This will serve 100,000 people, more or less.
[Evil Step-mom or Domestic Goddess?] Tasty and Cheap Company Dinner: Used 3 springs of thyme, and a bay leaf, and a clove of garlic with the cut up veggies and put all that in the crock pot. Added roughly a cup of beef broth/stock, and maybe half a cup or so of leftover Cabernet from the night before (but any red wine would work well I think) threw the meat on top turned that sucker on high and waited about 5 1/2 hours. Took it out, let it sit covered with foil for 5-10 min then cut it up and served it with the broth/veggies on the side in a bowl. I do wish I had a hand blender, because I think those would have been good blended a bit so they would thicken up.

[Stir Crazies!] Nothing old about this currant flavored recipe: So while I loved the flavor, all it really did, for me, was make me miss a roast beef. So I’d eat it again, of course, but if I CHOSE a crock-pot dish, I’d probably lean to another.

[365Corks.com] 365Corks.com: 2004 BOHEMIAN HIGHWAY CABERNET SAUVIGNON: A late dinner of roast that had been swimming in the crock pot all day was enjoyed with a 2004 Bohemian Highway Cabernet Sauvignon. Now if you saw my review of their Chardonnay from a few weeks ago you know that I loved it.
[Ahhmooz's Weblog] Autumn Tidbits: WineFest ‘08 was great. The turnout was certainly more than I had expected for a very windy day in Salisbury. I really enjoyed bundling up in my favorite sweatshirt and sipping wine all afternoon. I still feel like a lot of the community activities around here are so small that they’re kind of a joke, but this one was pretty good. There were vendors, wineries, fooderies, and even cheeseries (?) and the bandstand had local acts who sounded pretty good. I enjoyed the UMES Jazz group the most.
