Animation films reach for the top | MONDOVINO Film Production!!!
[MONDOVINO Film Production!!!] The big companies, creators of wonderful animated movies, such as Disney and Pixar are now pushing to be included among the “serious” films.For example, Oscars awards for animated films never have they been included in the best film category, until 2009, when the wonderful, sensitive story featured in “UP” was nominated to the Oscar along with Avatar and the award winner, The Hurt Locker.The impact of animated films for adults too, has been diminished for a long time. But great Pixar and Disney creations, such as the above mentioned “Up”, and the funniest series of “Shrek” and the “Madagascar” and this year’s releases “Megamind” and “Hop” prove that animated films deserve a spot among the “serious” movies.

Mondovino-A review « Mark's Wine/Family/Business Blog
[Mark's Wine/Family/Business Blog] I understand that this is going to be a major concern with wineries, but I have to admit that almost every wine drinker I know from the serious to the casual, seem to have similar tastes to Parker. If he were constantly rating wines highly that the wine consuming public didn’t like, then he would lose his following rather quickly and people would pay more attention to other publications which the filmaker seems to leave out for the most part, with a small reference of Wine Spectator and their 2M+ yearly readers.

Mondovino Movie Streaming
[Weight Loss] infantile tastes (“easy to drink wines”) and who favor oak to “terroir”(the earthy tastes in many French wines) are changing the map wines are made forever. It seems the exiguous wineries are being bought out by the huge corporations, synthetic methods are musty, everyone is creating a McDonalds Bic Mac wine that is predictable, doesn’t need ageing, and caters to wine critic Robert Parker’s personal tastes and biases (he loves the mountainous California wines so the Europeans are emulating that model.)

In Mondovino, it is the traditional elites - wealthy landowners in France, and the plummy-accented Christie’s wine director Michael Broadbent - who emerge as the defenders of local difference and the last line of defence against big commerce.

[More than just wine] The cinema version of Mondovino uses this procedure quite efficiently by beginning, if I remember rightly, with the owner of the French winery called Mas de Daumas Gassac (Aimé Guibert) declaring to the camera that "wine is dead !" The point of view resumed in this absurd remark, aimed to shock the spectator and further developed as a thesis in the film, is, broadly, that large companies, rich people, and a small number of critics have colluded to homogenise the taste of wine on offer and crush the small producers and debase the "true" taste of wine. This, in my humble opinion, is simply not true, despite all the criticism that can be levelled (and I have often been outspoken in this direction myself) againt the US wine critic Robert Parker and what surrounds his ways of operating and tasting.

“Mondovino”: Insights into the French and Italian Wine Industries ...
[EuropeUpClose] Though the scenery and global scope of the film are impressive, the real richness of this documentary lies in the interviews with long-time wine-making families, such as the De Montilles, the Mondavis, the Antinori and the Frescobaldi. From the Bordelaise widow who admittedly pours the love she once had for her husband into the vines that produce her excellent wines to the elderly Provençal gentleman who refused to sell part of his vineyard to the Mondavis for a tidy sum, Nossiter introduces us to people who truly live for their wine.
