2005 Westwood Winery Sonoma Valley Pinot Noir « The Wine Spies
[The Wine Spies] Followed my normal Pinot winemaking: fruit completely de-stemmed and lightly crushed, caps allowed to rise on native yeast in small fermenters, no active temperature control, inoculated with selected yeast toward the end of the ferments, used relatively infrequent punchdowns and long maceration, pressed in a traditional basket and sent wine to barrels without settling. We stirred until malolactic was complete and then left the wine on primary lees - no racking - for over 2 years before assemblage and bottling.

From the Heart » Blog Archive » What makes Pinot noir special?
[From the Heart] These qualities of Pinot noir explain why it is a special area of focus at Seven of Hearts and Luminous Hills, and why we make so many of them: appellation wines, single vineyard designates, and special blends such as our Willamette Valley and Reserve. Each of these is a unique expression of a a time and place: the vintage and vineyard (or combination of vineyards) from which they were made.

In search of a great Pinot Noir - Your Life - SunHerald.com
[SunHerald.com: Your Life] The pinot noir grape is responsible not only for a wide variety of wine styles, but also for a vast range of flavors. The pinot noirs of Burgundy, France, are tremendously different than those from the Willamette Valley in Oregon which differ from those produced in the Russian River Valley and Sonoma County in California.

BrixChicks: Pinot Noir #3 - More Russian River Pinot Noir
[BrixChicks] I just cannot seem to leave the Russian River Valley with such delicious offerings of Pinot Noir (see Pinot #2.) L'Angevin is the project of winemakers Alan Peirson and Robbie Meyer, whose acquaintance I made at the Acme Atelier Portfolio tasting in March of 2009. This Pinot Noir had just been released and I was very pleased to be able to taste it.

Wine and Hockey - Episode #690
[Wine Library TV] Lately I’ve been trying Pinots from Argentina, and for some reason, I don’t know, most of the ones I’ve been tasting seem a lot heavier on the palate than most pinots(for example the Mariflor 2005 Pinot Noir from Mendoza that I’m tasting right now). Also it displays other characteristics as if it’s blended with something else other than Pinot Noir.
