Gourmets of Wine > Torbeck Woodcutter’s Shiraz 2003

[Tea Time] It’s not at all an overpowering wine, so it matched very well with food. I picked this up a while back, because I wanted to check out Shiraz from the Barossa Valley. I don’t remember how much I paid, and I admit, when I opened it last night and saw that it was a screw top, I hesitated. Was this something I got for $4 at Trader Joe’s?

Dengan bermobil kami bertiga menjajal Babi Guling Ibu Oka di Ubud yg arguably the best babi guling in Bali (which makes it the best babi guling in the planet?). Makanan ini terdiri dari sosis yang dibuat dari daging babi cincang dg rasa spicy yang cukup menyengat tapi membuat saya seakan ingin tambah nasi terus, sayur nangka muda (karena lawar nya sudah habis), irisan daging babi dg bumbu cabe yang pedas-asin-gurih, campuran lemak dan daging cincang yg diberi telur dan tepung lalu digoreng kering dan rasanya oh so damn good, serta kerupuk kulit yg legendaris karena kerenyahan dan kegurihannya itu. Saya betul-betul kalap hari itu, dengan cepatnya nasi yang ada di piring saya harus ditambah lagi sebelum saya ngamuk :-) Highly recommended dan saya tidak akan malas lagi jalan ke Ubud untuk memburu babi guling Ibu Oka ini.

There have been repeated calls by international human rights organizations and concerned citizens’ groups to declare the school areas as ’zones of peace’, and to leave the students and children outside the bloody sphere of the current conflict. These pleas have, however, apparently fallen on deaf ears, and present indications suggest, if anything, a further intensification of the ongoing Maoist campaign to mobilize children - voluntarily or otherwise - for greater participation in their ’peoples’ war’. There are reports of large numbers of schools closing down all over the country, creating long-term risks of declining quality of human capital, greater unemployment, and a burgeoning army of the unemployed which will keep the manpower supply lines to the Maoist cadres alive.
