Gourmets of Wine > Which Wine for Wiener Schnitzel?
[Spittoon - wine drink and food.] I would agree that a Pinot Grigio or its Alsatian counterpart Pinot Gris would work well, I also think that Austrian Rieslings (NEVER a German one, as they're very different from ours and only good for dessert or Thai food, in my humble opinion) are a great match. Careful with the Sauvignon Blanc, though, while I can see any European variety working, I would shy away from the very intense fruitiness of a Chilean or Aussi/NZ one, which would be overpowering and not rustic enough for a Schnitzel...

[Spittoon.biz] Spittoon.biz: July 2005 Archives: This is the domains only blend, a mix of 50% Auxerrois and 15% Pinot Blanc with the remainder being Chardonnay. A superb start to the range - good weight, ripe honeyed pea edge, nutty on the nose.
