Gourmets of Wine > Wine Blogging Wednesday: White Pinot.
[Spittoon - wine news and tasting notes.] Marcel Deiss produces his wines using biodynamic viticulture. Pinot Blanc, which I often look down on as a poor imitation of Pinot Gris, is in fact a white mutation of Pinot Noir, as is Pinot Gris. PG offers me more body (generally and especially from Alsace) and depth of flavour. Lea and Sandeman offer a full range from this producer - many of which sound superb!

[Thecaveman.blogspot.com] The Caveman's Wine Blog: The master of the assemblage, Deiss Engelgarten combines Riesling, Pinot Gris and Muscat into an almost German feeling mountain wine. A wonderful minerality with notes of lemons, orange peels and honey, the touch of residual sugar adds just enough richness to calm the acidity. Still tight, this will get better for a long time.

[Basicjuice.blogs.com] basicJuice: Pinot "Blank": I always describe Pinot Blanc as more of a texture experience rather than a taste experience. PB is a nice compliment to salty/savory/sweet meals (something with a whole lot going on like this Alsatian tart). Just don't expect it to jazz up boring food. Alas, Trimbach's '02 Pinot Blanc is just a little too "blank" even for me (the '01 vintage has much more character). This is tough to admit, as I am a huge Trimbach fan (give the Riesling a try - it's great). This is the first T-bach wine that I haven't really enjoyed. *sniffle*
