[Dr Vino's wine blog] One of his table wines, the Auxerrois, Hinterberg 06, was cloudy, which I didnt take to be a flaw, but simply a lack of filtration. It had a pretty flowery nose to it, and though rich and almost sweet, finished quite dry.

[Budez] Wait, Orange Wine? The Fourth Wine Color: And to top it all off—this morning I learned that The Tangled Vine is now pouring one of their orange wines by the glass (Domaine André et Mireille Tissot 2002 from Jura, France). I like to think this is at least in part my doing, but it’s possible that I’m just viewing the world through orange-tinted glasses today.

[Jordo Media - Feed of the Day from our RSS Feed Directory] Jordo Media - View the feed - Fork & Bottle: By far the star was Joanne's entree: "Carnaroli Risotto with Wild Mushrooms, Toasted Pinenuts, Treviso and Fontina d'Aosta". [Roger Ebert's Journal] Books do furnish a life - Roger Ebert's Journal: (Bill OReilly by the way probably holds some kind of record for having his books thrown away while theyre still on the best-seller list.) Most of the rest I trade at a used book store or give away to sales at local churches, but every year Im left with a couple of crates of books I must with much regret and guilt return from whence they came because I cannot imagine anyone wasting on them time that could be spent reading something more worthwhile, books that I know would end up thrown away anyway if I even tried to give them away -textbooks and travel guides that are out of date but not old enough to be of historical interest, thirty-year-old Readers Digest anthologies of condensed bestsellers (surely anyone with even a passing interest in one of the included novels could have find the time to read the whole thing by now), self-help and other advice books with titles of stunning banality by people whose photos suggest a degree of flakiness so high that I wouldnt rely on them to feed my cat while Im away for the weekend, nonfiction quickies written to cash in on current events which involve no first-hand research and contain no information that couldnt be gleaned from a lexisnexis search, and others so obviously not worth the mulch they could be reduced to that Im amazed that anyone bought them in the first place.
