cincinnati wine garage -- tasting notes and other stuff: For the Pinot Noir wines I was a bit surprised that I couldn't find any tasting note of German wines (called Spätburgunder). For those who are interested I would recommend to try German Spätburgunder from the Ahr region (most famous producer is Jean Stodden). (via Cosmos)
[Spittoon - wine drink and food.] The Best In The Last 30 Days.: I am going to plump for two wines from Spy Valley in New Zealand. The full tasting notes will appear in the full write-up but honestly, amongst all the wines recently I have slurped and spat, these really stood out.

[LENNDEVOURS] WBW #12 Roundup: 43 of You Drank Local -- Real Local: Beau, our lone Utah resident participant, pokes a bit of fun at himself with his post because he turned WBW into Wine Blogging Saturday. [The Wine Dude] Your Humble Host... I had the absolute pleasure t...: But, I fell into my teacher role pretty quickly and just went back to basics to talk about wine grapes and growing, regions and then we tasted some Pinot Gris (Andrew's of course), some Chardonnay (Cobblestone and Tantarra), some Pinot Noir (Coyote Canyon and East Valley Vineyard) and some Cabernet Sauvignon (Bryan Babcock and 20 Rows). I had a full seating area and I held forth with a wireless microphone for about 40 minutes (no one has ever accused me of not being able to improvise).
[Bereskin.typepad.com] Ken's Wine Blog: The 2003 Pinot Gris is shipping from Inman and we've already enjoyed our first bottle. It's every bit as a fantastic as the 2002 and in an email exchange with Kathleen Inman, the 2003 has slightly higher acid levels than the 2002 that should make the wine even more lively to go along with the great, creamy texture that attracted us to it in the first place.
[Sokolblosser.com] Oregon wines & tasting room: Sokol Blosser Winery: Aaron Sanchez (Paladar & Centrico, NYC) had the crowd laughing about his story of Pupusa Ninja's while he prepared Pupusas - Salvadorian stuffed corn turnovers that was paired nicely with Sokol Blosser's Pinot Gris. Bobby Flay did a great job preparing his spice rubbed New York steak salad, and then Gianni Santin of the Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas stole the show with stories of his family's immigration to America (They moved from Italy to Nigara Falls, but on the Canadian side: "Dad - you missed it by one mile!").
