[The Wine Front] Milan to Melbourne: Maurizio Ugge : The Wine Front: I collected some of the Brunello di Montelcino from the ’75 vintage, one of the best years, but maybe from producers that were not exceptional and maybe then it was partly my fault - and maybe moving the wine from Italy to Australia they saw some storage conditions that were not so good. But these were disappointing wines for me.

[Types of Wine] Firebo Margaret River Unwooded Chardonnay: Firebo Margaret River Unwooded Chardonnay, a White Wine, is available from many liquor websites online so if that is what you are interested in purchasing, then you will not have any problems getting it at a great price.

[Margaretriverdiscovery's Weblog] James Halliday gives five stars to Margaret River Best of the Best ...: The great news for you is that we have exclusive behind the scenes access to Cape Mentelle vineyard and winery, where we enjoy a light degustation lunch matched to six of Cape Mentelle’s best wines.

[Quaffle] 2007 Evans & Tate Margaret River Chardonnay: This chardonnay was a classic, medium-bodied chardonnay.  The scent has light upper notes of lemongrass, which is also present on the first notes on the palate.  There is a delicate citrus tone which smoothly gives way to rich, buttery, oaky notes.  It’s beautifully classic, really embodying wooded chardonnay (to my mind).  The mouthfeel is unbelievably smooth, without being oily or cloying.  Very nice indeed!

[NetWine] Vasse Felix ”˜Adams Road’ Chardonnay 2007 Margaret River (75cl): Located on the 35 year old estate is the four year old state-of-the-art winery where Chardonnay is produced. Packed with ripe tropical fruits, combined with a well balanced acidity, this is a Chardonnay not to be missed!

[Drinking Outside The Box] Leeuwin Estate Chardonnay 2001 - not yer typical Aussie Chardie ...: Leeuwin Estate isn’t counted among the real pioneers of the Margaret River region in Western Australia, but it’s certainly not a newcomer. It’s now 30 years since the first vintage, and while there are a number of good wines in the Leeuwin range, it was the Art Series Chardonnay that first propelled the winery to fame, and which continues to fly the flag in commendable fashion.

[ComfortWinery.com] ComfortWinery.com: Streicker 'Ironstone Block' 2006 Old Vine ...: We enjoyed this Streicker chardonnay at the home of Margaret Streicker and Eric Porres in NYC's Chelsea neighborhood -- it was one of the opening whites amongst 25 wines that we tasted over the course of the evening!    Drinking it with a member of the family that's on the label is always fun, but what makes this even more enjoyable to me is the way it presents itself -- low oak, light honeysuckle and bosc pear, fantastic minerality and very little butter &

[Bob's Blog] NZ & Aust perform well in international Chardonnay tasting:  It will probably come as no surprise to you to see that the Californian chardonnays performed as dismally as ever, and, at the other end of the scale, that Australia and New Zealand shared the first nine places (there were five Australian and five kiwi wines).  I didn’t know the Coldstream Hills was in the tasting, but was one of many who thought it was by far the best wine, with much conjecture as to what it might be.

[TravelPod.com Recent Updates] Margaret River delights - enjoying with all senses - Margaret ...: For me the next best winery after Cape Mentelle. My favorites: 07 Chloe Reserve Chardonnay, 06 Cabernet Sauvignon Robert Magnum.

[Frog's Pad] Frog's Pad » Blog Archive » Aged Semillon and Award Winning ...: Then we tasted the 2007, a rich, tropical/peachy Chardonnay with well integrated oak, hints of buttery caramel, and nice balance. This wine used to be made with loads of oak, but is now a blend of 60% oaked (only a quarter of which is new oak) and 40% unoaked, giving better balance.

[Tasting Chile] Finca Flichman Extra Brut Chardonnay Malbec « Tasting Chile: I’m not saying this will hold up to a gaucho’s thick and juicy bife chorizo like a Malbec would, but it could certainly get me in the mood! Truth be told though, the jury’s still out on this one.

[Margaretriverdiscovery's Weblog] Out in the Margaret River vineyards Winter 2009 ...: We need to spare some thought for these people as many are back-packers and as we are currently experiencing the wettest July for many years, it could be easy to see why they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else than out there pruning. We are fortunate that we have contractors and individuals that have dedicated themselves towards providing pruning service to the vineyards, as this is by far the busiest time in the vineyard and with short daylight hours, time is of the essence in larger vineyards.

[Bigger Than Your Head] California Chardonnay Revisited: Purity vs Process: Any of these qualities deployed with subtlety and nuance can help shape a chardonnay’s pleasurable aspects, but too many winemakers use oak as a sledgehammer to bludgeon the grape into submission in the winery. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard producers assert that the chardonnay grape is a blank slate waiting for a winemaker to write his or her techniques and personalities on the poor grape.
